Our visit to Barbados coincided with the inauguration of a statue symbolising the Barbadian family to replace the statue of Lord Nelson we saw removed from its plinth in Bridgetown’s Trafalgar Square three years ago. The large monument stands in the renamed National Heroes Square and incorporates ‘steles’ or plinths for notable Barbadians which can be added to.
