Kneeling where thousands have knelt,
singing age old pilgrim songs,
praying with warmth and depth,
we came to Walsingham.
Travelling half a day from Sussex
in bus and car convoy skirting London,
drawn by age old and life long practice,
we came to Walsingham.
Expecting to meet God and his Mother
as thousands have done here,
bearing the fruit of faith, hope and love
we came to Walsingham.
As Mary came time past to Richeldis
opening a spring to heal and refresh,
in expectation of meeting God
we came to Walsingham.
God’s blessing showered down on us
kneeling with Mary before her Son
alongside supportive friends with whom
we came to Walsingham.
