Author and broadcaster concerned for the common good and for Christianity as servant of that end. As a semi-retired Anglican priest married to Anne and based in Haywards Heath I’ve got an interest in Sussex, Brighton, London, Yorkshire, Guyana and the Twisleton diaspora. A hardy blogger I love sharing ideas and information in service of the common good.
Hello, John, this is Fr Michael Bice in Chicago! I am ecstatic to find you on the Church Times website. First of all, I am still an Anglican priest functioning in the Diocese of Chicago! It is true, that I had a brief stint as a Roman Catholic because of the ordination of women, but am now safely back to where I belong. I am now retired and assist at a neighbouring Anglo-Catholic parish church. Look up the website and you will be blown away! (www.churchoftheatonement.org) There are so many things that I would .like to tell you, and I would love to hear from you also. A big hug! Michael
Hi Michael
What a joy to hear from you! So many good memories of our friendship in the 70s. My oldest son works at UCL so when I visit him I look down on the old Chaplaincy building and walk past where I stayed with you 1973/4.
I was`saddened and confused by your Anglican exit note but rejoice to hear you’re back in the Anglican Church though my rejoicing is qualified by the erosion of Catholic credentials. My wife, Anne, is Evangelical Anglican and has been a brake on my Roman tendency…
Anyway great to hear from you and I will check your site. My e mail is john@twisleton.co.uk.
With love and prayers
(Canon Dr) John Twisleton
Dear John and Anne, I was so pleased to get your card this week, and was delighted when you turned up a St Barnabas the other day and RECOGNISED me, white hair and al!! You’re right about memories of Selly Oak- College Time and women priests, and a fair amount of fun as well. I still keep in touch with a few friends from there – the Moles, Dan O’Connor, though decreasingly so , and others.but I doubt if they were there at the same time as you. I think Edith Melia must have died, as regular letters from her have suddenly stopped. Jack died several years ago. But I won’t carry on just now. Leave till you’re here for glass of sherry some time…. Lots of love, Nora.
Hi Nora
Lovely to hear back from you.
At present Anne is using the very limited visiting tickets to visit Eve.
When things ease I hope to come along as well. You can e mail me at john@twisleton.co.uk
Happy New Year in Jesus Christ!
God rest Geoff!

Excellent blog! Do you have any tips and hints for aspiring writers?
I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m a little lost on everything.
Would you propose starting with a free platform like WordPress or
go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m completely confused ..
Any suggestions? Bless you!
Thanks for your encouragement. I find WordPress OK and its free. It is indeed confusing – just go for one option and put 100-200 words up at a time. John
