Holbrooks History
Foreword by Vince Hill
Compiled by members of St.
Luke’s Church
Holbrooks in Coventry marks the northern boundary of
the expansion of that city over the last century. Four brooks are now covered
by housing development started to serve munition
workers during the Great War.
Irish, West
Indian, Eastern European and Indian workers settled later to establish a
multicultural community linked to the wider world by the adjacent M6 Motorway.
This book tells a colourful tale of the Coventry suburb and includes dramatic
pictures from the Second World War.
